swing dancing.

so last night i had a small gathering with some church friends.

talk about a great time.

i made some homemade lasagna, banana bread, salad and brownies (with marshmallow fluff). 

dan thought it was a hit.  clearly.

for real, it was delicious!

the lovely ladies had a mini-photo shoot. 

mitch took some excellent photos.

then we did some house touring:

then some swing dancing!

the whole reason for the event!  there is a church swing dancing party this weekend, which we all will be attending. and very few of us know how to swing dance.

so dan and josiah came to show us the ropes.

i learned that i have NO clue what i am doing, nor could i repeat anything that we did the other night...but can follow pretty well.

i only got dropped once.  on my back.  pretty darn hard.

but i lived.  just with a slight headache all night long LOL.

and jane only nailed dan in the face with her leg once.

ouch.  i hurt for him just looking at it.

and what did we do?  we all laughed. for like 10 minutes (and talked about it all through the night).

good times.  good times.

all the while, group shots were an epic fail.

12 second timers are my friend, but jane thinks 12 seconds is a long time. 

so this is how the first photo turns out....and we quickly discovered 12 seconds comes faster than you think!

i begged and pleaded but no one cared. i was only the hostess haha.

but i am thankful for dan, mitch, josiah, jane and brook.

and hope to see them all again before i head back to school!

they stayed till almost midnight and i worked at 8 30 today.

we had a nice talk/training session about how i need to be sarcastic.

man, is it a work in progress or what!

and i get this post on my wall today from mitch: 

"you learned many things last night!  most importantly...sarcasm. dancing?  not so much."

i love my friends {and sidenote, the more i hang with him, the more i only see him as a friend.  what an answer to prayer!}

but i slept HORRIBLE last night. 

and was awoken at 2 am by the beeping dishwasher.

i had a blast swing dancing, and can't wait to do it again on friday!

i went to the musical chicago with my fam, kirsten g, maggie s, and emily c.

it was wicked good, but i am wicked tired. and have no pics to prove the event took place.

so that's my cue to get to bed!
